About the role

Our client is building web and mobile applications. They need an Assistant Tech Lead who still writes code.

You will work with the Tech Lead and Project Manager. You turn business needs into secure, easy-to-maintain applications. You also guide the developers day to day.

What you will do

• Work with project managers and business analysts to understand business needs

• Help shape specifications, interface design and architecture

• Build and maintain web and mobile features using ReactJS, React Native and Node.js

• Connect applications to databases (PostgreSQL, MSSQL) and RESTful APIs

• Guide developers day to day and review their code

• Keep coding standards, design patterns and security measures in place

• Improve existing applications and fix routine and complex issues

• Write documentation for architecture, code changes and fixes

• Support deployments, hosting and releases on Azure or AWS

• Help the Tech Lead with estimates, task breakdown and team coordination

What we are looking for

• Proven hands-on ReactJS and Node.js, delivering web or mobile applications

• Experience connecting applications to PostgreSQL or MSSQL and RESTful APIs

• Some experience guiding developers or leading a small team or work stream

• Good understanding of object-oriented programming and design patterns

• Git

• Can manage hosting environments and understands deployment

• Strong problem-solving and communication

• Degree or diploma in computer science, IT, software engineering or similar

Good to have

• React Native

• Azure or AWS

• CI/CD and DevOps practices

• Cloud certification (Azure or AWS)

• Agile or Scrum certification

• Experience on large-scale or regulated projects

Relocation and work pass

• You will need to relocate to Singapore for the contract term
