Senior IT Business Analyst

Position Overview

We are seeking a skilled Business Analyst to serve as a strategic connector between business stakeholders and technical teams. In this role, you will uncover business challenges, translate needs into actionable specifications, and shepherd solutions from concept through deployment. You will ensure that technology investments directly address organizational objectives while maintaining alignment across all parties.

Key Responsibilities

• Partner with external and internal stakeholders to capture, document, and rank business requirements through structured discovery sessions
• Conduct discovery activities including interviews, focus groups, and workshops to map current processes and identify gaps
• Convert business priorities into functional requirements, user stories, and detailed specifications that guide development
• Collaborate with design and engineering teams to validate that proposed solutions address stated needs
• Participate in quality assurance and user acceptance testing to confirm delivery meets specifications
• Oversee solution rollout activities, including training, documentation, and organizational change support
• Assist with project budgeting, scheduling, and status reporting to maintain transparency across stakeholders
• Serve as primary liaison among business sponsors, project teams, and technical staff
• Track project milestones, identify emerging blockers, and escalate issues promptly
• Examine business data and process metrics to surface improvement opportunities
• Synthesize findings into clear reports and presentations that inform strategic decisions
• Document current and future-state processes, system architecture, and operational workflows
• Scan the market for emerging practices and tools that could enhance competitiveness
• Recommend process enhancements that yield measurable benefits for the organization and its customers

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Information Systems, Management, or related field
• Four or more years of professional experience as a Business Analyst or equivalent role
• Demonstrated ability to elicit and synthesize complex business requirements
• Experience translating business needs into technical specifications and user stories
• Proficiency in requirements documentation and process modeling tools
• Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills; ability to distill complexity for varied audiences
• Experience working with cross-functional teams in structured project environments
• Familiarity with Agile delivery frameworks
• Comfort with data analysis tools and techniques to support insight generation
• Solid time management and ability to juggle multiple initiatives
• Attention to detail and commitment to accuracy in documentation

Nice to Have

• Formal Business Analysis certification (CBAP, CCBA, or equivalent)
• Experience with process modeling software (Visio, Lucidchart, or similar)
• Background in specific industries or technical domains
• Exposure to enterprise systems or digital transformation initiatives
• Basic SQL or data literacy
