Senior Business Analyst

Job Description:

We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Senior Business Analyst with deep domain expertise in General Insurance, specifically Motor Insurance. The ideal candidate will have over 10 years of relevant experience in business analysis roles within the insurance industry and hold appropriate professional certifications (e.g., CBAP, PMI-PBA, or equivalent). You will work closely with business stakeholders, product owners, and technical teams to drive end-to-end delivery of insurance solutions that meet regulatory, operational, and market needs.

Responsibilities:

• Lead the requirements gathering process for insurance products, with a focus on Motor and General Insurance.

• Collaborate with stakeholders to define business needs, goals, and scope.

• Analyze and document detailed business requirements, functional specifications, process flows, and user stories.

• Assess and optimize insurance business processes, underwriting workflows, claims management, policy administration, and customer onboarding.

• Analyze data requirements, including data models, data sources, and data integration needs, and communicate these requirements to the development team and QA team.

• Conduct gap analysis and impact assessment between new and existing systems.

• Act as a liaison between business, operations and technical teams, providing guidance and clarification to ensure that requirements are being clearly understood and delivered accurately.

• Translate insurance regulations and compliance requirements into actionable system requirements or user stories/epics.

• Collaborate with the QA team to support the testing process by validating requirements, reviewing test cases, participating in UAT, and assisting in defect triage to ensure the application meets user needs and quality standards

• Change Management: Assist in developing change management strategies to facilitate the smooth adoption of new changes, applications and systems.

• Provide subject matter expertise on insurance standards, market practices, and technology trends.

Skills

• Minimum 10 years of business analysis experience in the Insurance domain, with at least 5 years specifically in Motor and General Insurance.

• Proven experience in leading and delivering insurance-related projects.

• Strong understanding of policy administration, underwriting, claims processing, and regulatory compliance.
Proven experience in gathering and documenting functional specifications.

• Proficient in creating business requirement documents, functional specifications, user stories and process flows.

• Excellent communication skills, analytical thinking and stakeholder management skills.

• Proficiency in data analysis and business process modeling tools (BPMN, UML, or similar tools).

• Knowledge of software development methodologies (e.g., Agile, Scrum, Waterfall).

• Familiarity with relevant insurance platforms and systems (e.g. Guidewire, Duck Creek, etc.) is a plus.

Education and Certification

• Bachelors or Master degree in Business, Insurance, Finance, Information Systems, or related field.

• Certification in business analysis (e.g., CBAP, PMI-PBA) are mandatory.
