Duties & Accountabilities
- Developing and maintaining a dashboard for visualizing operational data from drug discovery programs.
- Designing and developing visualizations and dashboards that allow users to intuitively understand key
characteristics of their data. - Implementing statistical metrics that are meaningful to visualize key performance indicators.
- Suggest new visualizations based on input from business analysts.
- Collaborate with a data engineer to define required data transformations and formats.
- Document the data flow, configuration, and usage of the implemented solutions.
Requirements
- Very good command of at least one of the following reporting tools: Tableau, Tibco Spotfire SSRS, SAP BO (at least 2 years of experience).
- Good knowledge (at last 2 years experience) of design and usability in BI.
- Required skills/tools:
✓ Spotfire and/or Dash Plotly for dashboard development.
✓ Plotly for custom visualizations.
✓ Python for custom data transformations.
✓ Lucid Spark for mapping ideas, wireframing, and collaboration.
✓ Gitlab for task and code tracking.
✓ SQL.
✓ SAP Business Objects XI (Web Intelligence, Desktop Intelligence, Crystal Reports, Designer, Information Design Tool, Xcelcius, etc.). - Strong data visualization skills. Some background in data science (basic statistics). Experience with different visualization platforms at an advanced level. Focus on user-friendly and intuitive design.
- 3+ years of experience in at least one of the following reporting tools: Tableau, Tibco Spotfire.
- Ability to design and prototype BI solutions based on business requirements.
- Knowledge(at least some level of awareness) about UX and usability within BI area ( eg. how certain data are best visualized, how to build a usable dashboard, know about Roche branding etc.).
- Basic knowledge about data storage (eg. relational databases) how to access them, how to query data, how to join the data from different sources, basic modelling knowledge.
- Be able to give realistic estimates, possibly with collaboration with other BI developers.
- Know what is the best testing strategy for the given BI solution.
- Very good written and verbal communication skills, as well as interpersonal skills, focus on end-user value delivery. Fluent in English.
- Open to working on EMEA time zones.
